About the Event
Dr Paddy McLisky is a General Practitioner working in Byron Bay, a small town on the east coast of Australia. Paddy graduated from Medicine at the Flinders University of South Australia in 2005. He has been working with Doctors For Refugees for the past two and a half years, and is currently Secretary of the organisation. Doctors For Refugees is an entirely independent group of over 600 volunteer doctors, health professionals and concerned citizens, and receives no government funding.
Mia Tri Fitriani has more than 9 years of experience in the humanitarian field, six of which were spent with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Indonesia dealing with irregular migrants (refugees and asylum seekers) in transit. In her current work with IOM, she designs and implements the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support intervention which aims to maintain the well-being of refugees and asylum seekers during their transit in Indonesia.
